Residents' platform
Bewoners Binnenstad Tilburg (Residents of Tilburg city center) organize a residents' platform about three times a year: one for Centrum-West (where the Dwaalgebied is located) and one for Stadshart-Zuid (roughly the city center east of Willem II Straat and south of Heuvelstraat). This is where the Horeca concentration area is located and where most events take place.The residents' platform brings together residents from as many streets as possible to discuss current issues in their living environment, such as traffic and parking, vacant premises and new build projects, graffiti and waste collection, events and noise pollution, shops and horeca, and environmentally en friendly, green initiatives in the city center. We identify problems and try to show residents how to solve them, together with the municipality and other organizations. One or more city administration officials are always present at the residents' platform, including the city center area manager. The working language is Dutch.
Keeping our finger on the pulse
We monitor construction plans, urban development, housing plans, regulations, and policy plans that affect the quality of life in the city center. Where necessary, we exert influence and make adjustments. We are therefore the residents' representatives in the City Center Management of the municipality of Tilburg.Enrich your neighbourhood
(“Verrijk je wijk” which means: enrich your neighbourhood)Residents can apply for a subsidy to organize a party, reception, or other activity, or whatever else is needed to bring local residents together. The condition is that it must be something for and by city center residents. Applications can be submitted to penningmeester@bewonersbinnenstadtilburg.nl
